Your buyers are asking ChatGPT and Google who to buy from, and right now the AI may be naming your competitors without you knowing it.

The AI doesn’t hand people a list of websites to click through any more. It gives them an answer with a few names in it, and most people go with those names. If yours isn’t one of them, you never get a look in.

The good news is the AI doesn’t pick the biggest brand. It picks the one it understands most clearly and can quote most precisely, and that’s something you can work on.

I’ve spent the last six months working out how: on my own startup, on a coffee store I built from scratch just to test it, and on clients. Some of it worked faster than I expected (the coffee store was named first by Google’s AI two days after it went live), and some of it I got wrong and had to fix.

All of it is in the second edition of The AI Search Playbook:

  • The book: a six-step method you follow in order, across Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Gemini, with six real businesses, wins and failures.
  • The Toolkit: worksheets and prompts you can use straight away.
  • The full coffee store case, screenshot by screenshot.

If you bought the first edition, the second is already in your library, free.
